Back to Cleveland for the summer

Kate returns to Cleveland to work fulltime at the ice cream parlor, take a French class and help her Dad pack the house. We've had an amazing five months together setting up a temporary home, meeting new friends and exploring the front range. I am going to miss her like crazy! When she returns in August, we'll have a few days together before she moves into her residence hall at Colorado State University. But, when she returns she'll take off on the solo adventure of her life. She's a remarkable young woman who will no doubt do remarkable things in the future. [Not that I'm biased or anything!!]

Rocky Mountain National Park

Kate explored Rocky Mountain National Park with Missy, Chris and Evan on Sunday. When they returned Chris reported that the car thermometer read over 100 degrees. It was 70 degrees at 12,500 ft above sea level in the park. Not a bad way to cool down, catch some stunning mountain views and catch an elk on the trail!

Father's Day 5K

Kate and her cousin Evan participated in the Father's Day 5K - the course ran through Old Town. The temperatures were already beginning to soar.

Rafting the Poudre

Well, here's a motley crew of adventurers. No denying serious fun had by all - I'm just glad they all came home with all of the same parts they left the house with! The river was at peak and moved at a serious clip. Water temperature was in the 40s - which is why they are decked out in wet suits and fleece!
